The Panasonic TX-P42X10 TV – Worth Considering

Why wait to get a plasma TV when you can get a Panasonic TX-P42X10, a great introduction in the world of plasma televisions at a great price. This unit is the most TV for the money, a 42 inch version of the mid to low-level plasma TVs in the Panasonic line. This is the television for you if you’d like a few modern features but not the entire parade.

Similar to many 42 inch televisions sitting on the shelves today, this Panasonic TX-P42X10 television is glossy black. It looks just as elegant and just as expensive. It will do you quite nicely if this is your first television purchase since Mary Tyler Moore went off the air. However, with economy in mind, it is HD Ready, not a high definition television. But it is certainly appropriate for your needs. With resolution of 1024 horizontally and 768 pixels vertically, you’ll have an excellent picture from the comfort of your chair. Some sales people on commission may tell you that with a 42 inch screen, you’ll just see a mass of colored dots. That’s true, if you’re mere inches away. From a normal distance, everything will merge into a bright, beautiful virtually seamless picture.

There are three HDMI present, which is certainly enough connectivity for the average home. You’ll have no problem connecting a DVD or Blu-ray Disc player and a couple of game consoles.

The Panasonic TX-P42X10 gives you very watchable video with state-of-the-art color and picture management. The black levels are superior to any LCD television in the same price range. This is due to increased base illumination from Panasonic’s Real Black Drive system. You’ll be highly aware of this feature when watching movie scenes where the display is trying to strike a real balance between dark and light.

Considering the economy of this television, it still manages to deliver high quality images at 100 hz. Turn the screen on an angle, and your video is still consistently good.

Auto-brightness is a standard feature in televisions these days and the Panasonic TX-P42X10 doesn’t skimp on that. It adjusts the picture according to the ambient light in the room. You’ll also notice that when you access the menu via the remote control, the on-screen menus are very quick to appear and are very user-friendly.

You won’t find an expensive ethernet connection on the Panasonic TX-P42X10, however, this basic plasma set does have a memory card slot for the SD card from your digital device. Take a look at your photos right after you take them on the big 42 inch screen, complete with built-in musical scores.

The Panasonic TX-P42X10 does offer great sound with V-Audio Surround. The digital signal processor generates early-reflection data based on actual room measurements and emits what technicians refer to as depth-sound-image effect. What does this really mean? It means great sound all around. Not too much bass, not too much treble, not too loud, not too soft. It’s just right!

What this television does is gives you an uncompromisingly good viewing experience for an outstanding price.
